2012 was a remarkable year for Bread of Life Fellowship.
Because of you, our friends, supporters, donors, and volunteers we were able to:
- Provide food boxes to 83,850 families,
- 1,286 salvations and recommitments recorded
- 30,011 volunteer hours were tracked
- 2,711,306 pounds of food was received and distributed.
We look forward to what God has in store for us in 2013. We pray that you will continue to partner with us.
In Christ's Service
In 1989 with a truckload of donated snacks given to needy families in Winter Garden, a seed was planted that would later become Bread of life Fellowship, Inc. By 1994, the initiative had grown and evolved into a not-for-profit 501(C)(3) faith-based organization. During the next few years, the organization consistently served more families with food and spiritual nourishment. In 2005, the organization moved to its present location in Ocoee and expanded to thirty-one food distribution sites throughout Central Florida. In 2011, BOLF distributed 3,120,958 pounds of food to 54,620 families. This was made possible through the generosity of numerous donors and contributors along with 30868 volunteer hours from dedicated individuals throughout the area.
Despite the current economic conditions, BOLF continues to serve families that live in environments detrimental to a healthy, productive and contented life. God has blessed this organization with a ministry that provides spiritual and physical nourishment to thousands of individuals across Central Florida.
As with any growing organization, we have a vision for the future.
Our ever expanding vision for Bread of Life Fellowship is to grow in our ability to:
Build up the whole person - body, soul and spirit
Expand opportunities to empower people to serve those in need
Strive for excellence in all we do as an organization
Improve our facilities, vehicles and food supplies
Evolve from a regional organization to a national organization
Due to increased demands for feeding the needy, BOLF outgrew its current 4000 sq. ft. warehouse facility. Thanks to a grant from the Edyth Bush Foundation, we have secured an additional 6600 sq. ft. building to adjoin to our existing warehouse. This will better serve our operations of loading and unloading trucks, sorting, packing, storing and distributing goods. By adding to our working space, we will run a more efficient operation to better serve our clients. We are currently moving more than 300,000 pounds of food each month.
We are distributing food to more than 5000 families each month and the number continues to rise. With our new addition we are streamlining our operations, creating a safer working environment for volunteers, visitors and BOL staff. We can store larger amounts of disaster relief supplies from Feed the Children and other suppliers. It is an energy efficient (green) structure with skylights and insulation. This additional warehouse space will enable Bread of Life to reach its full potential in Central Florida.
